Recognition - Local Service Award

The 2025 Local Service Awards were presented on Friday, September 19, 2025. The Inverness Local was proud to recognize past president, Vince Jessome. What follows is the write up prepared for his nomination: "Vince will retire in June 2025 after over 30 years of dedicated teaching. Throughout his career, he has served the students and families of Inverness Education Centre/Academy. For more than half of his teaching career, Vince has also been a tireless advocate for his colleagues through his work with the Inverness Local, serving at the provincial, regional, and local levels. His leadership roles include representing the Inverness Local on the Article 60 Committee, serving as Vice-President of Economic Welfare, and concluding his career as President of the Inverness Local. Vince has devoted countless hours to supporting and advocating for teachers, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs addressed. His inclusive and collaborative leadership has encouraged many within our local to become actively involved in committees, workshops, and executive roles. We extend our sincere appreciation and thanks to Vince for his many contributions to the Inverness Local." Sheila Hawley Inverness Local President
